Violence is the Weapon of the Weak

Non-violence is the weapon of the strong & violence the weapon of the weak. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the man who patronized non-violence & made it a weapon to resist the British rule, said this line.

Though many would not agree & will say that Pacifism is simply undisguised cowardice but let me tell them one thing that the above saying is 100% true. Violence is the weapon of the weak.

Physical strength is not the only way to measure a persons real strength. His mental strength & will power should also be accounted. A mentally strong person will not stoop to violence. He will use all other means first to obtain his purpose. Whereas a weak person will resort to violence at the slightest provocation. He does that to hide his weakness and as we all know that offense is the best form of defense.

A person who is afraid will be the one to strike. A deer in the woods will charge you if you try to go near it as it fears for it’s life. A lion will also do so but who will dare to go near him. This shows that a strong person does not need to attack.

To become strong one should follow non-violence. No one is more powerful than he who has attained perfect non-injuring. No one could fight, no one could quarrel in his presence. His very presence and nothing else means peace, means love. Nobody could be angry or fight in his presence.

Thus we can say that violence is the weapon of the weak and non-violence weapon of the strong. But in following these lines we should also remember that resistance of evil in any manner ( violent and non-violent) is a good thing and is not a sign of weakness.

hey…nice to see such thought provoking posts on your blog !!though practicing non violence makes the world a better place to live in, but must add one thing, violence might come in handy in extreme situtations where the greater good is involved… 🙂 (as u have mentioned, in case of resistance of evil)
